Watermark PDF

Stamp text such as CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT or your company name across the pages of a PDF.

Runs in your browser — your data never leaves your device.

    About the Watermark PDF

A watermark makes it clear that a document is a draft, a copy or confidential, and discourages misuse of documents you share — for example a CNIC copy sent for one specific purpose.

Choose a diagonal watermark across the centre, a straight one, or a tiled pattern that covers the whole page. Adjust colour and transparency so the content underneath stays readable.

How to use the Watermark PDF

    1. Choose or drop a PDF file.
    2. Type the watermark text, for example CONFIDENTIAL or Only for bank account opening.
    3. Pick the layout, colour and opacity.
    4. Click Add watermark to download the watermarked PDF.

    How it works

The text is drawn on top of each page with pdf-lib using Helvetica Bold. Its size is calculated from the page width and the length of your text, so it always fits. Opacity controls how transparent the text is (for example 20% means mostly see-through).

    Examples

    • Mark a contract DRAFT in grey, diagonal, 20% opacity before sending it for review.
    • Tile Copy for XYZ Bank only across a CNIC copy so it cannot easily be reused elsewhere.

    Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded to your server?

No. The PDF is opened and processed by your own browser. It never leaves your device, so it is safe to use with private documents.

Can I write the watermark in Urdu?

Not yet. The built-in PDF font supports English letters, numbers and common symbols only. Please use English or Roman Urdu text.

    Can a watermark be removed?

A text watermark makes misuse harder and is clearly visible, but someone with PDF editing software may be able to remove it. It is a deterrent, not encryption.
