About the Find and Replace
Change a name, price, date format or phrase everywhere in a long text without editing it by hand. The result updates as you type and shows how many replacements were made.
Turn on Whole words only so that replacing cat does not change category. Advanced users can use regular expressions and refer to captured groups with $1, $2.
How to use the Find and Replace
- Paste your text.
- Type what to find and what to replace it with (leave Replace empty to delete).
- Choose Match case, Whole words or Regular expression.
- Copy the result, or click Use result as text to make another replacement.
How it works
Your search is turned into a pattern (special characters are escaped unless Regular expression is on) and every match is replaced. Whole-word mode only matches when the text is not part of a longer word, including Urdu and other scripts.
