JPG to PNG

Convert JPG photos to PNG images in bulk — privately in your browser, with no upload.

Runs in your browser — your data never leaves your device.

    About the JPG to PNG

Convert JPG (JPEG) photos to PNG format in seconds. Drop in one image or a whole batch; each one is converted right in your browser and is ready to download.

PNG is lossless, which makes it a good choice when you plan to edit an image further, add text or graphics, or upload it to a site that requires PNG. Converting does not reduce quality any further.

How to use the JPG to PNG

    1. Click Choose files or drag your JPG images onto the box.
    2. Each image converts automatically and shows its new size.
    3. Click Download next to an image, or Download all.

    How it works

Your browser decodes the JPG and draws it onto an invisible canvas at its original size, then saves the canvas as a PNG. No pixels are resized or recompressed. Because PNG stores every pixel without lossy compression, the PNG file is usually larger than the JPG.

Note: converting to PNG cannot restore detail that JPG compression already removed, and it does not create a transparent background.

    Examples

    • A 1.2 MB 12-megapixel phone photo may become a 6–10 MB PNG.
    • A small 40 KB screenshot saved as JPG becomes a crisp PNG for editing.

    Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded to your server?

No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser. Your images never leave your device.

Why is the PNG bigger than my JPG?

JPG uses lossy compression designed for photos, while PNG is lossless. The same picture stored without loss takes more space.

Will converting to PNG make the background transparent?

No. JPG images have no transparency, so the PNG keeps the same background. Removing a background needs a separate tool.

How many images can I convert at once?

Up to 30 images per batch, each up to 50 MB.
