Image Resizer
Resize images to exact pixel dimensions or by percentage, keeping the aspect ratio.
Runs in your browser — your data never leaves your device.
About the Image Resizer
Make images exactly the size you need: a profile photo, a website banner, a document upload that requires specific dimensions, or simply a smaller file to share. Set the width and height in pixels, or scale by percentage.
With Keep aspect ratio on, the image is never stretched. You can also change the output format and quality to reduce file size further.
How to use the Image Resizer
- Choose or drop one or more images.
- Pick Pixels and type the new width (the height follows automatically), or pick Percentage and use the slider.
- Optionally change the output format and quality.
- Click Resize images, then download the results.
How it works
- New height (with aspect ratio locked) = New width × Original height ÷ Original width
- Percentage scaling multiplies both sides by the same factor: 50% of 4000 × 3000 is 2000 × 1500.
Resizing uses high-quality smoothing. Making an image smaller keeps it sharp; enlarging it beyond its original size cannot add real detail and may look soft.
Examples
- 4000 × 3000 photo → width 1200 px → 1200 × 900
- 1920 × 1080 screenshot at 50% → 960 × 540
Frequently asked questions
How do I resize a photo for a passport or form upload?
Check the required size in pixels, choose Pixels, turn off Keep aspect ratio only if both width and height are fixed, and enter the values. If the form also has a file-size limit, choose JPG and lower the quality.
Does resizing reduce quality?
Making an image smaller keeps it sharp. Enlarging can make it look blurry because no new detail is created.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Resizing happens in your browser and your photos stay on your device.
