About the PNG to JPG
Turn PNG images into JPG files that are usually much smaller — ideal for emailing photos, uploading to websites and forms with size limits, or saving storage.
You control the JPG quality, and because JPG cannot store transparency, you can choose which colour fills transparent areas (white by default).
How to use the PNG to JPG
- Set the Quality (90% is a good default) and, if needed, the background colour.
- Click Choose files or drag PNG images onto the box.
- Download each JPG, or click Download all.
How it works
The PNG is drawn onto a canvas filled with your background colour, then saved as JPG at the chosen quality. Lower quality means stronger compression and a smaller file. For photos, 80–90% is usually indistinguishable from the original; for screenshots with text, use 90% or higher.
Examples
- A 4.8 MB PNG photo at 85% quality often becomes a 400–800 KB JPG.
- A logo with a transparent background becomes a JPG with a white (or your chosen) background.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to transparent backgrounds?
JPG does not support transparency, so transparent pixels are filled with the background colour you choose. Keep the PNG if you need transparency.
What JPG quality should I choose?
Use 80–90% for photos to get a small file with no visible difference. Use 90–100% for images with text or sharp lines.
Are my files private?
Yes. Images are converted on your device and are never uploaded.
